Carroll County Judge Tomlinson Receives William H. Natcher Award Judge Tomlinson Receives William H. Natcher AwardEach year, the Kentucky Library Association awards the William Natcher Award to an individual or entity that has contributed significantly to a library. It is named for William H. Natcher, Kentucky’s longest serving federal legislator, who was an avid library supporter. The 2008 William Natcher Award was recently presented to Judge Harold “Shorty” Tomlinson of Carroll County. According to Linda Kompanik, the KLA Library Awareness Committee Chair, Judge Tomlinson did an exceptional thing when he secured $100,000 from the fiscal court for the renovation and expansion of the Carroll County Public Library. His action was the catalyst for many other entities following suit and making similar contributions. Congratulations to Judge Tomlinson and the Carroll County Library for this prestigious award. |
