Regional Citizen Corps Council Announces Mini-Grant RecipientsNorthern Kentucky Regional Citizen Corps Council Announces Mini-Grant Recipients The Northern Kentucky Regional Citizen Corps Council (NKRCCC) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2008 Mini-Grant Program. The purpose of the Mini Grant Program is to fund community projects that will help further the Vision and Mission of the regional council. The mission of the NKRCC is to work with first responders, agencies, businesses and residents of the Northern Kentucky area to harness the power of every individual through public awareness, education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared for preventing and handling threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds. The 2008 grant recipients are: Information on the projects funded by this program will be highlighted on the NKRCC website (www.nkrccc.org), and presentations will be made at upcoming NKRCCC meetings. In 2005, the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) called for the forming of regional citizen corps councils in each region of the state to work together to coordinate efforts to provide information regarding preparedness for individuals in the state and encourage them to volunteer and become involved in local citizen corps programs in their communities. As such, the Northern Kentucky Regional Citizen Corps Council was formed and is working to better prepare the Northern Kentucky region. The Northern Kentucky Regional Citizen Corps Council is affiliated with the Northern Kentucky Area Development District and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.
