NKADD's Kentucky Resource MarketKentucky Resource Market One vital program the NKADD operates is The Kentucky Resource Market. The Kentucky Resource Market is a one stop shop for aging and disability information, programs, and services. We like to think of it as the front door to accessing information regarding aging and disability services. The program began in 2005 when the local Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living learned that NKADD had been selected as Kentucky’s demonstration site for a federal Aging and Disability Resource Center grant. Later NKADD received funds from the State of Kentucky, and thus the name of the program “Kentucky Resource Market” was developed for all 15 of the Area Agencies on Aging and Independent Living around the state. Although the federal grant ended, NKADD continues to strive to provide this vital service. The Kentucky Resource Market can help individuals by providing information and assisting with locating the most appropriate service or community resource. The resource counselor takes a very individualized approach and works to identify options to best suit the needs of the person requesting assistance. The resource counselor also provides follow up to insure that needs were met. In addition, the resource market is the starting point to obtaining services provided directly by the NKADD Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living. A Resource Counselor is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm and can be reached by calling 859-692-2480 or toll free 1-866-766-2372. The resource counselor can also be reached via e-mail:
