Northern Kentucky Area Agency on Aging
Over 650 Area Agencies on Aging exist throughout the United States. Our agency is part of that national network of organizations established under the Older Americans Act (OAA). The agency was created to respond to the needs of older adults.
The Area Agency on Aging works as advocates, planners, coordinators and developers to ensure the needed services to citizens of the community who are 60 years of age and older.
The agency will contract with service providers in the area to deliver services to seniors. The agency assesses the services provided and monitors the providers for compliance to predetermined service levels and goals.
The Area Agency also works with various legislative bodies to help identify and address the needs of seniors in the community. The agency works to bring funding to the area through various sources, grants and fundraising. The Area Agency on Aging provides information to the community at large regarding issues concerning the elderly.
