The Employers First Regional Workforce Network is a regional public-private partnership working to supply businesses with the talent they need to compete and grow in the Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana region. Employers First is a collaboration of the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board (NKWIB), the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board (SWORWIB) serving Cincinnati/Hamilton County), Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio serving Butler, Warren Clermont Counties, and Indiana Region 9 Workforce Board.
Who does the Program Benefit / What are the Benefits?
Our region's economic success depends on our ability to provide a qualified workforce. Businesses increasingly need higher skilled workers to succeed in the new economy. Yet, despite high unemployment, one-in-three local businesses struggle to find qualified workers for in-demand jobs, and nearly half expect difficulty in the next three to five years. The problem? Fragmented services that are difficult for employers to navigate, and an inadequately prepared workforce that lacks the technical and professional skills demanded by employers. Employers First Regional Workforce Network aligns and coordinates workforce services for the employers of our region, thus mobilizing the region's resources to make sure employers have the talent they need to succeed.
