MISSION STATEMENT
The Development Division is committed to being a dynamic, effective contributor to the client jurisdictions' economic, physical and social development efforts.

To carry out this mission, Development Services: Assists local jurisdictions in securing the necessary resources to fulfill community development needs, and provide technical assistance for local planning efforts and needs.

A major task of the Division is to assist local officials in their efforts to secure funding for various public projects including:

! Residential water and sewage systems construction and improvements
! Industrial site acquisition and development
! Loans and incentives for job creation projects
! Recreational trails projects
! Senior citizen centers
! Housing projects

The Division works closely with various funding agencies and programs including:

! Kentucky Department for Local Government
! Kentucky Housing Corporation
! United States Economic Development Administration
! Kentucky Economic Development Cabinet
! U.S. Department of agricultural, Rural Development Division
! Kentucky Transportation Cabinet
! Kentucky Justice Cabinet
! U.S. Department of Justice
! Kentucky Infrastructure Authority
! United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
! Kentucky Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet
! Kentucky Heritage Council
! Kentucky Division of Disaster and Emergency Services
! Federal Emergency Management Administration United States Army Corp of Engineers

Staff members have worked with the above agencies and others to secure funding for such varied programs as Community Policing, revolving loan funds, micro-enterprise grants, Transportation Enhancement projects, export assistance, sewage treatment systems, anti-theft projects, disaster recovery, historic preservation, industrial park development and urban renewal.

The Division also staffs the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association, markets Ride Share programs, provides planning assistance such as writing zoning ordinances, comprehensive plans and other planning projects.

The NKADD Data Center

The NKADD maintains a Data Center that serves as a resource for local governments, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals.   As an affiliate of the U.S. Census Bureau and the Kentucky State Data Center, the NKADD Center receives the latest census data available. In addition, the Data Center maintains numerous economic and demographic statistics from a variety of sources.

Recently released statistics include:

• 1995 Household Income and Poverty Estimates (by County)

• 1998 Total Population Estimates (by County)

• Population Projections by Number of Households from 2000 to 2020 (by County and ADD).
