Mapping & GIS

Mapping hazard prone areas shows the proximity to populations and structures to raise awareness and identify potential losses.   The NKADD maintains a GIS inventory that includes pertinent digital maps and data from state and national sources including:

  • FEMA Q3 Floodplain Maps (Digitized FIRM Maps)
  • USGS Elevation & Slope Maps (DEM’s & DRG’s)
  • USGS & KGS Seismic Potential Maps
  • USGS Landslide Prone Geology
  • High Wind Areas
  • Hazard Loss Estimation Modeling (HAZUS)
