MISSION STATEMENT Training One of the more broad areas of support provided by Public Administration Services is categorized under the umbrella of training. Public Administration Services maintains a commitment to make available high quality training opportunities for all levels of the local public sector workforce. Some examples include the award winning Public Management Series, local Government Management Conference, Public Works Safety Workshop, City Budget Workshop, County Budget Workshop ,Total Quality Management, Spanish Conversation for the Public Sector, and other timely topics. Human Resource Assistance Staff regularly performs work for local units of government and non-profits concerning the management of human resources including keeping abreast of changes in federal and state laws affecting the employer-employee relationship, job classification, executive searches, benefits administration, Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, equal opportunity, hiring and firing, pay for performance, drug testing, wage and hour law, labor law, personnel evaluation and management, pay plans, and salary surveys. Financial Assistance Public Administration Services, as a component of its scope, offers assistance to cities and counties in the area of financial administration. On a general level, assistance and technical guidance is available in the areas of budget preparation and administration, accounting systems, revenue generation, federal and state regulations compliance, and conduct of a wide array of special studies. Property Tax Rate Calculations The NKADD Public Administration Services Division offers, as one of its FREE services to local governments, any assistance needed in the preparation of Real and Personal Property Tax Rate calculations. NKADD assisted approximately twenty-five cities and five fire protection districts last year with tax rate calculations. Staff support is available again this year. Click here for more information. Staffing Local Groups The NKADD offers on a subsidized fee basis the provision of staff support for local not-for-profit organizations. This allocation of staff time is devoted to the assistance and maintenance of many not-for-profit groups located in Northern Kentucky. Generally, the Public Administration Services Division, on a regular basis, provides professional and clerical staff support for the Municipal Government League, the Northern Kentucky Regional Ethics Authority, the Northern Kentucky City and County Management Association, the Northern Kentucky Municipal Clerks Association, and the Northern Kentucky Public Works Association. |
