From the inception of Employers First, the NKWIB has provided key leadership.  Initially, it acted as the grant recipient for the Regional Innovation Grant (RIG) awarded by the Department of Labor.  One of the key outcomes required by the RIG was establishing a way to maintain ongoing communication with the employers of the region.  Employers First established its website to accomplish this goal.  It is www.employersfirst.org.  One of the exciting aspects of the website is a portal by which employers can access information about training for current employees or college graduates who already have the skills they may need.  This is an easy way for employers to find the talent they need in our region.

This portal is a direct demonstration of how Employers First is accomplishing its mission – “to be our regional employers’ first and best source for solutions to their workforce challenges today and tomorrow.”
