Full Time Administrative Assistant Job Description

The Grant County Economic Development office is seeking an individual who would like to gain experience working in a business/tourism/hospitality setting. This individual will be professional in dress and speech and possess good written and oral communication skills.

The economic development administrative assistant is also the administrative assistant for the Grant County Chamber of Commerce and Grant County Tourist and Convention Commission.

Position reports to: Executive Director Economic Development/Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Director

Hours: 40 per week (some night and weekend work required for events)

Benefits: Health Insurance; paid vacation and sick time

Job duties:

General office skills – keeping a database of chamber members; answering phones, taking and preparing minutes from meetings; office correspondence

Working knowledge of Excel and Word

Strong accounting skills such as Quickbooks, bank statement reconciliation, check writing, entering deposits and payroll transactions, as well as creating monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements

Excellent customer service and organizational skills and is detail-oriented, able to multi-task and willing to work some nights for specific event coverage; meeting and greeting the public in a professional and courteous manner

Public speaking when required or when director is unable to represent Grant County at various regional and state meetings

Working knowledge of social media/web site platforms (including Constant Contact, Facebook, etc.)
