NKADD publishes the 2025 NKADD Grant Opportunity Guide

The NKADD grant team has published the 2025 NKADD Grant Opportunity Guide to assist our communities and regional partners in Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen and Pendleton counties. The Guide details over 50 grant opportunities and features a step-by-step project development guide and a project checklist. The development guide outlines how to pay for the project, determines the scope of the project, conducts project research, prepares a funding package, and discusses project implementation. The checklist helps communities and regional shareholders develop an application timeline and gather all necessary information.

Throughout our region, grants are vital in supporting development and improvements within our local communities. They provide essential funding that extends beyond the limits of operational budgets, helping to bridge the gap between available resources and community needs. Grants are particularly valuable for addressing evolving community problems when budget adjustments cannot be made quickly enough. Grant funding can be used for various projects and initiatives, including infrastructure, recreation, economic development, emergency services, and environmental resources.

Communities and partners can obtain federal, state, and private grants. Because grant funding is highly competitive, it is crucial to conduct extensive research and planning in order to submit a strong application. The application process can be complex; most grant programs open only once a year and focus on specific areas, such as safety, environmental issues, or human services. Each grant program has unique eligibility requirements. While some application periods remain consistent from year to year, others may change due to federal budgeting cycles and appropriations. With that in mind, we strive to provide the most up-to-date information possible.
